Whale Watching - Our Favorite Spots

Nature & Parks

The region of the South West welcomes these incredible creatures for over six months, from late May to early December. This makes it one of the longest whale-watching seasons in Australia. Cape Leeuwin National Park is conveniently located on a 15 to 20 minute drive from the park. Humpback, southern right, minke, and blue whales all journey through here. Whether you’re on land or at sea, you can catch a glimpse by finding a great viewpoint and staying alert.

Book your getaway with BIG4 Dunsborough Southern Stars now and be one of the lucky people to spot the first whales coming through this season!

Dunsborough and Yallingup give you and your travel buddies a chance to see the amazing whale migration heading north. Whales start arriving around April and May, and they head back south around October. Whale types include: Humpbacks, Southern Rights, Blues, and Minke whales. We hand picked several great spots around Dunsborough for you to enjoy!
